Hey everyone! Sorry it’s been a minute since I’ve posted. This past month and a half or so has been so crazy busy with work and social events, but I wanted to get something up for you even if it’s short and sweet. Let’s not waste any more time, and dive right in to the 3 things I loved during the month of August 2019!
TV
The 90210 Reboot, BH 90210 launched in August and I am HERE. FOR. IT. I think the show is super cute, kinda cheesy, but cute. I was hooked by the first episode, and immediately started watching the old 90210 series that same week! The original 90210 started in 1990, and though I remember my aunts (who were then, high school aged) loving it, I was too young to watch it during it’s prime. I have caught many reruns on Soap Net over the years, but I wanted to watch them all, start to finish, to truly appreciate and understand all of the references in the reboot.
The season finale of BH 90210 (only 6 episodes in Season 1!) is this week and I’m so sad to see it end, and hopeful for a second season. The show is adorable and addicting, even with hottie Dylan McKay missing from the cast. RIP, Luke Perry. ❤
Concerts
At the end of July we went to the Hootie & The Blowfish Concert with Justin’s family. The music was great, but boy, was it hot! We were all sweating profusely, and constantly chugging water to stay hydrated. My feet were burning from the tops and the bottoms as I stood on the lava-like turf in my black flip flops. Barenaked Ladies opened for Hootie, and even came out during the Hootie set to sing a song with them – With a Little Help from my Friends by the Beatles. It was incredible, and definitely my favorite song of the night.
Two weeks after that, Justin & I went to the Thomas Rhett concert and I swear, I’ve never had so much fun at a concert before. Not only was Thomas Rhett phenomenal, but so were all of his openers: Rhett Akins (Thomas Rhett’s dad!), Russell Dickerson, and Dustin Lynch. I sang screamed every word to every song, and it was truly a miracle that I had a voice the next day. The weather was much more cooperative this time around, too, but wish I could say the same for the awful traffic we endured leaving the venue.
Couples Massage
We ended the month with a couples massage at Massage Envy, and it was amazing! We haven’t had a couple’s massage since our honeymoon in the Bahamas so it felt long overdue, and after so much stress and chaos this summer, those 60 minutes were finally our well-earned opportunity to wind down and fully relax. Honey, lets get couples massages more often!
Now, September is here and I am looking forward to cooler temperatures, boots and chunky sweaters, caramel-y scented candles, and all the crock pot soups.
Bring on, Fall!
