Hey guys! Happy Hump Day!
Thought I’d pop in and give you a quick update about what we’ve been up to!
I had family in town last weekend from Chicago to celebrate the slew of October & November birthdays (literally, there’s 9!) and we were super excited to catch up with them on Friday! We always have a great time whenever we get together, and it’s just a bonus when there’s cake involved.
Then on Saturday, we began a new project… a bathroom renovation!
We are updating the tile to white subway, and add two “niche” boxes with probably a decorative tile backsplash. We were originally thinking about replacing the tub, floor and vanity countertop, but I think that’s going to be more complicated than we were anticipating. Giving the walls a fresh coat of paint (I am SO over the blue), and updating accessories. Finding lots of design inspiration on Pinterest and excited to see the final outcome — and enjoy my bubble baths again! Ultimately, we would like to update both of the upstairs bathrooms, but we are tackling them one at a time!
Justin and I have been going to Church for the past three Sundays and I am for sure loving this change. This Church is much different than the Catholic Church I grew up going to, and seems more more applicable to my everyday life. During our first service I totally ugly cried toward the end, when they said something that really hit home for me. This week will be the last of the 3-week series called “Press Pause” where Pastor Rob talks about how we should all slow down before the holiday chaos hits. We have been learning a lot from the services, and I love spending time with my husband in a different way.
Our workouts have slowed a bit, just due to the recent renovation schedule, but still still managing to fit in a couple sweat sessions. My body is finally starting to feel normal again, and I am determined to keep up my routine through the holidays, and not just give up and “start fresh” in January.
I’m getting my hair colored and trimmed tomorrow, and I am really looking forward to it! With all of the recent stress, an evening of pampering is much needed. Coming up this weekend, we are excited to celebrate a wedding on Saturday and a baby shower on Sunday (at Rhinegeist, where we got married!). I must to remember to take some photos to share – I always forget!
Next week is Thanksgiving (how did this sneak up on me!?) and we have decided to stay in town this year, as opposed to celebrating in Chicago with my family. My grandma is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow and won’t be able to travel, so we are bringing T-Day to her, instead. In addition to family time, we’ll be attending a Friendsgiving event as well. Then before we know it, it’s going to be Christmas! If I had it my way our tree would already be up and I’d be listening to Christmas music on repeat. Bring on the good cheer, and new year!
Have a great week, everyone!
