February might have been short, but it sure was sweet!
+ To kick off the month, Baby Morgan & I were showered with lots of love by our friends! A million Thank You’s are owed to my friends Nikki, Brittany, and Ashley for throwing the most perfect rainbow shower for our rainbow girl. 🌈 Thank you also to everyone who came and for your generosity. She is certainly one loved (and maybe a little spoiled😜) girl!! 🥰 Check out all the details in this post.
+ We went Fowling for our friend Jon’s Birthday – Yes, “Fowling” as in, Football Bowling. It was pretty cool! Of course, I just watched – it’s not safe for an 8 month pregnant woman to get hit by flying footballs – but spectating was still fun and Justin had a blast!
Valentine’s Day
Like every year, Justin & I like to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a delicious dinner made at home. He made us the most delicious seafood alfredo with shrimp, scallops, spinach and blistered tomatoes. It was the ultimate definition of #CheatMeal and oh, so worth it!
We both bought little baskets and filled them with goodies for one another. I should have taken a photo of how cute he assembled mine before I tore into it, but it included a Kendra Scott heart pendant necklace, a nursing bra (haha, v-day lingerie looks a little different this year!), a nursing tank, Reeses cups and Sour Patch Kids. He is so sweet, and definitely knows me well!
The basket I put together was technically for Justin, Rudy and baby Morgan combined. I included dog treats for Rudy, and a Nike bib & socks set for Morgan (though I knew Justin would like it too!), Hoda Kotb’s I’ve Loved You Since Forever book, and a puzzle game for Morgan and Justin to play together that correlates with Jimmy Fallon’s Your Baby’s First Word Will Be DADA book. In the basket itself (I stupidly thought everything fit in the basket) I placed fruit-by-the-foot & Handi-snacks (which he requested), beef jerky, Kitkats, Reeses, and Dove Caramels. Justin had been wanting these milestone blocks to take photos with the baby so I bought him those as a bonus!
Baby Shower with Family
My Aunties outdid themselves yet again, by throwing me the most beautiful baby shower brunch! There were elements of Lilly Pulitzer and an endless amount of PINK. The food menu was phenomenal, including of course, my favorite chocolate treats, and while I couldn’t enjoy a mimosa my guests certainly did!! Check out the details in this post.
Justin, Baby Morgan are so unbelievably grateful. We are truly overwhelmed by all of the love and generosity our friends and family have shown. It’s so hard to believe that our miracle girl will be here in just a few short weeks!
Nick’s Birthday Dinner
My brother’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day, and this year he turned 29! My family and I went over to his house to celebrate with pizza and dessert. I didn’t remember to take any photos (I was still in a “hangover” state from the shower Saturday) but we had a good time and I think he enjoyed himself.
We also got news that he passed his EMT test, and that in itself is worth celebrating! Way to go, Nick!
Misc. February Favorites
+ This “Little Ears” pasta with broccoli & pesto has become a new staple in the Peterson household. (Thanks Brittany for the recommendation!) It is a HelloFresh recipe that she and her husband re-make all the time, and have passed it along to us. While I didn’t think it would, the sweet sausage and savory pesto pair together perfectly. This dish is being added to our rotation!
This month I read Jessica Simpson’s memoir, Open Book. For any fellow 90’s girl who like me, loved pop culture in her teenage years, this book is for you! I also caught myself watching some re-runs of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica on YouTube.
Most Looking Forward to in March:
- Finishing the Nursery
- Enjoying our final days as a family of three (YES, Rudy counts.)
- Hopefully, meeting our daughter!!!!!
