Happy MAY FIRST! Not only is May ordinarily my favorite month, but Justin & I leave for our Honeymoon Part 2 in the Bahamas in just 10 short days! Here are a couple essential items I’m packing:
Sunscreen & Bug Repellant
Although the risk has since been lifted, the Bahamas was previously grounds for the Zika virus. Zika is particularly hazardous to pregnant women, or those planning to get pregnant. This Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Repellant & Sunscreen Duo contains SPF 30 to protect us from the sun’s harmful rays, as well as IR3535 insect repellant to fight against mosquitoes, deer ticks, black flies, gnats, no-seeums and biting midges.
Makeup with Built-In SPF
It just so happens that my favorite “foundation” product, the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream contains SPF 50. This product is soo perfect at protecting my face from sun all day, without having to wear an additional makeup product and looking cakey. Medium is my perfect color, and the formula offers incredible coverage. A less expensive option would be this one, from Physician’s Formula, however it’s only SPF 20. I’m super intrigued to try this makeup setting spray from Coola, that has an SPF of 30 and could be worn over either CC Cream. Maybe I’ll snag it as a birthday gift to myself! 🙂
A Hat
I learned the hard way, after my forehead got burnt to a crisp in Florida in March, that I should always pack a hat when traveling to a beach. I bought this one to bring to the Bahamas, as it is super light weight and made of moisture-wicking Dri-Fit fabric. It also looks cute with my golf outfit! (Our resort has unlimited golf, which is especially appealing to my husband!) I’m also planning on bringing a wide-brimmed hat, for
dress-ier looks.
To Wear
I’m planning to pack a combo of light, breezy dresses, cute supersoft tees, denim shorts, and probably 10 bathing suits! My days will mostly be spent at the pool or beach, with a delicious frozen drink in my hand, so I need to make sure I have several options, with corresponding cover-ups.
Other must-haves for my honeymoon suitcase: my fav sunnies, sandals that go from day to night, and my YETI Rambler, since the bartenders will fill them for you instead of being stuck with a dinky plastic cup. Yaaaaas.
What am I forgetting? What are your vacation must-haves?
