Home Projects

We’re rounding off my birthday week like any other – with healthy dinners, workouts, and chores around the house, except with the occasional slice of leftover cookie cake for dessert.

Every night this week we have spent hours designing and printing decals on my Cricut machine!  I put a decal on my diffuser that says “relax & just breathe” as a little reminder to deeply inhale my diffusing essential oils.  I’m not sure where I’m going to put the biblical quote yet, but I wanted to try my hand at a dual design. I think it turned out pretty cute!  On my To-Do list this week, I want to create another shadowbox for our third baby angel, as well as a few more decals for drink cups.

I also need to figure out a better scenario for housing the Cricut machine & supplies, because the basket I’ve been keeping the rolls of colored vinyl in has filled up quickly (and messily!) and I want to give myself a little more desk space and room to work. Stay tuned to see what we come up with!

Meanwhile in the backyard…

We’re giving our green thumbs a second chance this year, and I planted tomatoes and gypsy (mini) peppers on our patio.  Justin planted some habanero peppers, in hopes to make his own mango habanero salsa this summer. I want to make some labels with my Cricut for the outside of the pots, or perhaps just more festive stakes to stick inside.

To the right of these patio pots, smack dab in the middle of our ornamental grass, lives a family of bunnies.  We’ve seen Mama bunny coming and going several times, and I think we have counted 8-10 sleeping babies! I really hope they grow up quickly and move out of our yard before Rudy finds them!

We also want to plant a little herb garden and keep it in our kitchen windowsill.  The photo below is my inspiration!
